The Albanese Labor Government has delivered 9 Urgent Care Clinics across Western Australia, providing vital healthcare services to our communities. These clinics are making a real difference – treating burns, cuts, broken bones, and other urgent medical needs without the long emergency department wait times. Best of all, they're fully bulk-billed, meaning no out-of-pocket costs for patients.
As your Federal Member for Pearce, I've already delivered results for our community's healthcare needs. In 2023, I championed and secured a Medicare Urgent Care Clinic in Clarkson. In 2024, I worked closely with Professor Cobie Rudd and the ECU team to establish the ECU Health Centre in Yanchep. But there's more work to be done.
Yanchep desperately needs its own Medicare Urgent Care Clinic. This would mean:
- Fully bulk-billed treatments
- Shorter wait times
- Better care right here at home
- Reduced pressure on hospital emergency departments
- Faster access to urgent medical care for our community
The feedback I'm hearing about existing Urgent Care Clinics has been overwhelmingly positive. These facilities aren't just convenient – they're preventing unnecessary hospital admissions and providing efficient, accessible healthcare when people need it most.
I didn't put my hand up to be your Federal Member to sit back and wait for things to happen. I'm committed to fighting for a Medicare Urgent Care Clinic in Yanchep, alongside continuing to advocate for a hospital for our growing Pearce community. But I need your support to make this happen.
